2nd Immunotherapies for Infectious Diseases Congress 2018
The 2nd edition I4ID2018, follows the success of the first edition, that gathered together more than 175 participants, 80 organizations, academics, industries, businesses and 33 internationally renowned speakers to discuss and exchange on immunotherapy as a new therapeutic way to fight emerging and or re-emerging infectious diseases, and tackle the problem of multi-resistance to antimicrobial compounds.
The purpose of this two-day congress is to foster interactions between pharmaceutical industries, research labs, service providers, and technology developers, and thus promoting the use of immunotherapies for prevention and treatment of infectious diseases.
For this year edition I4ID2018, the Scientific Committee has set-up a stimulating program focusing on Host-Directed Therapies (HDT) to fight infectious diseases. HDT is a new emerging alternative approach to treat infectious diseases and overcome the problem of antimicrobial resistance and the lack of broad-spectrum virus-targeting drugs that we still encountered nowadays.
The topics covered during this year edition are:
– Targeting the Immune system to fight Bacterial Infections,
– Targeting the Immune system to fight Viral Infections,
– Targeting the Immune System to fight Sepsis
– Bringing into clinic Host-directed therapies: safety and efficiency
The I4ID2018 includes keynote lectures, pitch talks of new innovative projects, industrial talks from pharmaceutical companies and poster presentations.
Moreover, there will be several opportunities for networking, companies to showcase their new products and technologies as well as dedicated time for business partnering.
